I am an animal lover, I am vegan, because I am an animal lover, but I don’t preach I’m just doing what is right for me, just as you do you. I now have only one cat and a dog, which is the least amount of animals I have had for many years, it was never boring in my house. I cycle when feel my health lets me. I have fibromyalgia with chronic pain and fatigue, among other symptoms too many to mention. It is very hard to explain in a few words but reading my blog will probably give you more details than you would ever need to know.
I have written since I was small just for myself and there is a picture above my fireplace to which I attribute my love of making things up. My parents bought it before I was born and after several years of living in a loft (long story) it became mine. It is my favourite painting and has pride of place.
I have written articles for several magazines, websites and local newspapers over the years, at the same time writing stories for myself and jotting down ideas all the time. Thinking one day that I would start writing books. Well, the time has come.
My favourite genres to read are fantasy and sci-fi, with the odd thriller of a favourite author thrown in. I have always read a lot and after years of thinking I am just not as good as all these published authors, I finally decided to give it a go, as what have I got to lose, apart from time, effort or my mind and having all the angst and fear, that I hear can follow even the best of writers around.
So when work and my health allows, I am now writing the second fantasy book in a series and have another in the works, which is a historical romance, set in India in the 1750s. Write about what you know they say! Thankfully fantasy is all made up as I unfortunately don’t know any elves or wizards, and then a lot of research of India will be going on. But at the moment dragons, dwarves and the like have taken over my life and I am loving it.
